Farms, LLC is committed to rescuing as many abused and unwanted Percheron draft horses from the uncertain fate of the auction
block as possible. Once rescued, our goal is to provide the horses with the best care
and lifestyle possible. Our tours let people know about our rescues, and give people a chance to actually see the horses
healthy and enjoying the attention. The horses are rotated during the day for exercise from a stable downtown Wilmington.
Each horse only spends one week a month downtown, and two or three weeks minimum out on pasture on our farm.
Our rescues are under the care of several equine veterinarians. Our rescues will retire to our farm to live out the
rest of their days, never to be sold. Our retired rescues live a long and healthy life, as our 23 and 33 years olds
attest to. We have been saving horses since 1987 and are very proud to have saved 18 Percheron draft horses so
far. Our tour customers give us the opportunity to save more horses.
